We constantly hear about the urgent need to innovate and challenge our habits. We are encouraged to create new products, services, experiences, and processes in order to stay competitive, solve problems, and adapt to the needs of a changing world. To support this, methods like Design Thinking and Open Innovation are often used. They are excellent toolkits, but mostly for minds already accustomed to thinking differently. Yet from the moment we start school, we are gradually taught to stop thinking creatively. To truly foster innovation, you need a fundamental foundation first: the habit of thinking outside the box.
